PCT 2011 – Between August 25th to October 25th, 2011, Sam Fox ran and hiked 2,400 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail, from Canada to Mexico, ran across barren Death Valley and summited Mt. Whitney.  Through thick forests, over snowy mountains, and past sandy desserts, he covered almost 43 miles, every day, for 61 straight days.  All of this was done in an effort to honor Sam’s Mother, Lucy Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2001, and to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research and awareness.  With the help and generous support of so many, Run While You Can’s Pacific Crest Trail 2011 raised over $170,000 that went directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation and a cure for this terrible disease.

Thank you all for your tremendous efforts to raise money for the cure for Parkinsons. A friend of mine, a great man, one who has received great honor in our community has been suffering from this horrible disease for quite a few years. Together we Will find the cure!!
